While Colts receiver Alec Pierce is eligible to return to the field this week, he still needs more time before he’s ready to practice.

Head coach Shane Steichen said in his Monday news conference that Pierce, who is on injured reserve, will not practice this week as he’s still in the rehab process.

Pierce aggravated the heel injury he had surgically repaired in the offseason during Indianapolis’ Week 2 loss to Kansas City.

The NFL’s leader in yards per reception in each of the past two seasons, Pierce had five catches for 72 yards before he was sidelined.
