The Alabama football team is searching for answers after a bad loss to Tennessee on Saturday. The Crimson Tide mustered just 10 points, and were held scoreless in the second half. The performance is throwing cold water on the team's College Football Playoff chances.

“Alabama was not projected Sunday by Heather Dinich or any of ESPN's other 11 writers to make the CFP, while (The Athletic's) Scott Dochterman did not have Alabama in his top 12 or first 5 out, either,” 247 Sports reported on X, formerly Twitter.

Alabama is 5-2 on the campaign. The Crimson Tide have dropped back-to-back games to Georgia and Tennessee. The Alabama offense looked woeful against the Volunteers.

Tennessee would win the game, 26-10. Crimson Tide quarterback Keelon Russell threw two interceptions.

“I mean, we just put it on ourselves. I mean, we can't do what we did today. You know, we turned the ball over three, four times, and me, I had a horrible game. Just putting it all on myself. Couldn't even lead my guys down the field past the 50 (yard line). I had careless turnovers and the last one was just like ‘what the hell is Keelon doing?' so we just can't do what we did going forward,” Russell said, per 247 Sports.

It wasn't just Russell who struggled. Alabama finished the game with just 54 rushing yards. The Crimson Tide must now find a way to essentially win out in order to keep hope alive for a CFP bid.

“It's a loss. There's not a lot of happy faces. I mean, it's a learning moment. You know, you win some, you lose some. You got to get back up on your feet. Nobody's gonna hold their head down,” Russell said.

Alabama next plays Texas A&M on Saturday, in what has become a must-win game.
