The Philadelphia 76ers are set to play the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday night, but they will be without star LeBron James. James is officially listed as out due to low back/sciatica management. Before the game, 76ers head coach Nick Nurse provided an injury update on the future Hall of Famer, via Kris Rhim of ESPN.
“Nick Nurse said that LeBron James hasn’t expressed any pain or discomfort and that they are ‘not worried' about him moving forward,” Rhim reported.
James was initially listed as questionable to play. Philadelphia is unsurprisingly taking a cautious approach. The 76ers' goal is to have LeBron available for the postseason. Updates on LeBron James' injury status will continue to be monitored and provided as they are made available.
James has enjoyed a strong start to his time with the 76ers. Philadelphia is 2-0 so far and he is averaging 15.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists per outing. LeBron may not be the same player he once was, but he's still more than capable of making a significant impact on the floor.
As for the Bucks, they are 0-2 through their first two contests of the new campaign. Of course, the Bucks finally traded Giannis Antetokounmpo during the offseason. With Giannis beginning a new chapter in Miami, it will be interesting to see how Milwaukee performs during the 2026-27 season.
