The Philadelphia 76ers took on Eagles fan Karl-Anthony Towns' New York Knicks in preseason action October 5 as LeBron James watched from the stands. James joined Towns in making a fashion statement as he watched with Philly gear on, on a night when Jaylen Brown took over.
James was seen rocking a Phillies baseball cap as his Sixers jumped out to a big lead on the Knicks, led by the team's new star forward acquisition, Brown. Brown looked like a young James as he led his team forward.

The Sixers put the finishing touches on a 120-97 preseason win over the defending champion Knicks as coach Nick Nurse got a chance to watch his newly constructed team perform against one of the NBA's top franchises. Five Sixers scored in double figures including Caleb Love, who finished second behind Brown in scoring with 15 points.
The game didn't bring entirely good news, however, as Joel Embiid backup Ariel Hukporti suffered a lower leg injury, marring the Sixers' feel-good win. The Sixers' depth took a big hit on a night when Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and fan favorite Tacko Fall all sat out.
October 8 will bring a preseason road game between the Sixers and Brooklyn Nets, giving coach Nurse's team a chance to improve upon an already great performance. James and his star teammates' status remains up in the air, but the Sixers have the luxury of taking their sweet time as they continue to put the pieces of the puzzle together heading into the NBA's first weekend of regular season action.
James looks like a natural fit in the City of Brotherly Love, with designs on his first title since 2020 when he won it all alongside Anthony Davis in the NBA's Orlando, Florida-based COVID ‘Bubble.'
