Deebo Samuel accomplished an incredible feat in NFL history after scoring an 80-yard touchdown in the San Francisco 49ers' 36-30 win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday afternoon.

Samuel has been playing in the NFL since 2019, going through his seventh season with the 49ers. He stands out as one of the more high-quality receivers in the league, reuniting with his first team this past offseason.

Samuel has built a strong connection with quarterback Brock Purdy, putting together Pro Bowl-caliber years together. Back for another season, the veteran receiver looks to shine with big moments in the San Francisco offence once again.

Samuel got his moment midway through the first quarter. Purdy threw a two-yard pass to Mike Evans, who did a lateral throw to a running Samuel. The receiver caught the ball and didn't look back, sprinting past defenders to reach the end zone for the 80-yard touchdown. His efforts ended up making NFL history despite him not recording a reception for the touchdown.

Samuel has the most receiving yards without a catch in NFL history 🤯

How Deebo Samuel, 49ers played against Cardinals

Deebo Samuel enjoyed the spectacular highlight as the 49ers remain perfect after beating the Cardinals to improve to 3-0 this season.

San Francisco's offense set the tone from start to finish, scoring in all four quarters. Even though Arizona attempted a late rally, the hosts did just enough to fend them off to secure the home victory.

Brock Purdy balled out with his performance leading the offense. He completed 15 out of 27 passes for 297 yards and four touchdowns while rushing twice for 34 yards.

Christian McCaffrey torched the defenders with 15 carries for 75 yards and a touchdown while catching four passes for 41 yards. George Kittle flourished with six receptions for 82 yards and two touchdowns, while Mike Evans caught two passes for 34 yards and a touchdown.

The 49ers will look forward to their next matchup, remaining at home. They host the Denver Broncos in Week 4 as kickoff commences on Oct. 4 at 4:25 p.m. ET.
