Ahead of the San Francisco 49ers' Week 2 matchup against the Miami Dolphins, the fanbase has been wondering what the injury outlook looks like for rookie wide receiver De'Zhaun Stribling. As the latest update on the 49ers' promising rookie in Stribling was placed on the injured reserve (IR), a timetable has been revealed by head coach Kyle Shanahan.

According to Clayton Holloway, Shanahan said that Stribling had ankle surgery on Wednesday, as the 23-year-old will be absent for “close to 10 weeks.”

“Kyle Shanahan says rookie WR De'Zhaun Stribling had surgery on his ankle today. Stribling will be out ‘close to 10 weeks.' He will be placed on IR,” Holloway wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
