Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE) have big plans for their 27-year-old stadium in the heart of Denver, Colorado.
Stan Kroenke, owner of the NBA's Denver Nuggets and NHL's Colorado Avalanche, is planning $135 million of upgrades to Ball Arena.
"When we acquired the Nuggets, Avalanche, and the Arena, we committed to developing winning teams and to supporting the City of Denver,â Kroenke said, via NHL.com.
"The renovated Ball Arena and the subsequent redevelopment of the surrounding land allow us to keep doing both for another 25 years and beyond."
What will the $135m renovations improve?
Originally known as the Pepsi Center, the arena opened in 1999, and Kroenke acquired the two franchises and the venue just a year later.
The $135 million will include an expansion of the East Atrium, designed to welcome guests from the downtown side of the stadium.
This would include a glass facade, new escalators, a new team shop and new concourses to help elimiate congestion.
There will also be additional premium space in the form of three new exclusive clubs, one with direct access to 100-level seating.
"The result of this project will be a world-class venue that offers a legendary guest experience night after night," said KSE Vice Chairman Josh Kroenke.
âÂÂThe Nuggets, Avalanche, and Mammoth will have a home in Downtown Denver to rival any in their respective leagues.
"We will reinforce our position as the cityâÂÂs top indoor space for touring concerts and other major productions.âÂÂÃÂ
"ItâÂÂs an honor when you get to reimagine a venue that means so much to so many.
"Everyone will still recognize this as the site of some of their most cherished memories, but with the amenities, conveniences, technology, and aesthetics of a brand new building.âÂÂÃÂ
The arena has recently undergone renovation on their luxury suites.
The upgrades revealed today come in addition to the previously announced renovation of Ball ArenaâÂÂs luxury suites. The first 24 Ball Arena Legacy (100-level) and Signature Suites (200-level) will debut for the upcoming 2026-2027 seasons.ÃÂ
Kroenke continues to invest in sports portfoloio
Kroenke's sports portfolio includes teams across the NFL, NBA, NHL, and Premier League.
Along with the Nuggets and Avalanche, he owns Arsenal FC and the early Super Bowl favorite Los Angeles Rams.
Most recently, the man worth a cool $29.1bn purchased the MLB's Los Angeles Angels in a deal that is awaiting owner approval.
If finalized, it would cost KSE $4bn, and would make it the largest sale in MLB history.
The purchase from Arte Moreno immediately raised questions about the franchises' future in Anaheim.
Forbes had to retract a statement that a brand new $2.5 billion was already in the works, but it has not been entirely ruled out for the future.
