Ameer Abdullah start or sit: Week 16 fantasy football advice
Week 16 of the 2025 NFL season will wrap up on Monday with a battle of playoff contenders as the San Francisco 49ers visit the Indianapolis Colts at 8:15 p.m. ET on ABC/ESPN.
The Philip Rivers experiment almost worked for the Colts last week, but they came up just short in an 18-16 loss to the Seahawks and could be eliminated from AFC South title contention with a loss and a Jaguars win. But hey, they get a productive day from another old guy in Ameer Abdullah and he could be an important piece in the final weeks of the regular season.
Below, we’ll go over Abdullah’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 16.
Fantasy Football analysis: Colts RB Ameer Abdullah
Abdullah had his most productive game of the season in last week’s loss to the Seahawks, taking four carries for 15 rushing yards while leading the team through the air with five carries for 32 receiving yards. The 32-year-old veteran has logged double-digit offensive snaps in back-to-back weeks for the Colts offense and given Rivers’ limits throwing the football, he could actually prove to be an effective backfield receiving target like he was last Sunday. We’ll see if that strategy continues against the 49ers on Monday.
Start or sit in Week 16?
Sit. Abdullah’s role is something to monitor over the next few weeks if you’re in a deeper league and trying to find an under-the-radar back to could push you over the top to a title. You should be curious about his role in these last few weeks, but I’d just keep it moving and look elsewhere for Flex options.
