Allan Saint-Maximin quits club days after revealing children had been racially abused
Allan Saint-Maximin has left Mexican side Club America by mutual consent.
The announcement of the former Newcastle winger’s contract termination was made official just days after he claimed that his children were victims of racist abuse.

The 28-year-old signed a two-year deal worth a reported £7.2 million with the Liga MX club in the summer transfer window, after a short stint with Saudi Pro League club Al Ahli.
However, the former Premier League ‘streets won’t forget’ star made just 15 appearances, scoring three goals and providing three assists before his sudden exit.
“We reiterate our strong condemnation of any act of discrimination and/or violence that violates human dignity, both on and off the field,” Club America said in a statement, via Reuters.
“We express our absolute solidarity with Allan Saint-Maximin and his family, who have the support of everyone who is part of this institution.
“Thank you so much for wearing our colours Allan Saint-Maximin.”
Furthermore, Club America manager Andre Jardine called the Frenchman’s departure from the team as a ‘real shame’.
“He’s a great player who was doing well for the league and has the ability to play in any league in the world. It was a big change for him, moving from Europe to Mexico,” Jardine said.
“He’s a great player and we have to try to find a way to replace him.”
Just four games into the 2025/26 Liga MX season Torneo Clausura, Club America find themselves sitting ninth in the league with just one win.
In the Torneo Apertura phase of the campaign, they finished in fourth place with ten wins, four draws and three defeats from 17 outings.

Saint-Maximin cites racist abuse toward his children
Days before his contract was torn up, Saint-Maximin took to social media platform Instagram, where he expressed his heartbreak over his children receiving racist abuse while in South America.
“The problem isn’t skin colour, it’s the colour of people’s thoughts. I’m being attacked, and that’s not a problem for me,” he posted in an emotional message on Instagram on Friday.
“I’ve grown up, I’ve learned to fight back against attacks, whether they’re subtle, hidden, or overt. But there’s one thing I will never tolerate: attacks on my children.
“Protecting my children is my priority, and I will fight with all my might to ensure they are respected and loved, regardless of their background or skin colour.
“Hate and discrimination have no place in our society.
“I want people to understand that every human being is unique and precious, and that we must treat each other with respect and dignity.

“I want my children to grow up in a world where they can be themselves and where they don’t have to endure these absurd and senseless behaviors that only aim to destroy and divide.
“So, to those who dared to attack my children, I tell you: you made a mistake. I will always fight to protect my family, and there is no person or threat that will frighten me.
“The only person on this earth who frightens me is God. You have La Boca now, come and meet me.”
Saint Maximin, who also had a failed transfer with then-Jose Mourinho‘s Fenerbahce in 2024 now becomes a free agent, and it remains to be seen where he will end up next.
For now, though, he will be spending some much-needed time with his family before coming to a decision over his future.
