Alex Pereira brutally knocks out training partner and spars 6ft 7in giant in wild session
Alex Pereira has thunderous hands, so it’s probably not the best idea to challenge the UFC champion to a spar.
One training partner learnt the hard way when he traded blows with ‘Poatan’ at Fusion X-Cel MMA gym in Ocoee, Florida, this past weekend.

Footage has gained traction online of the Brazilian going through the rounds at the Florida gym.
Pereira last fought at UFC 320, where he reclaimed the light heavyweight title by knocking out Magomed Ankalaev.
He has since called out Jon Jones for a heavyweight bout at UFC White House.
Alex Pereira leaves training partner unconscious
The video, posted to social media by someone outside of Pereira’s camp, shows the 205lbs champion going toe-to-toe with an unknown fighter.
Both men look to be going light with one another, until Pereira unloads a body shot and piles on the pressure.
Pereira continues cracking various body shots before dropping his opponent with a vicious left hand.
The man falls straight to his back as those spectating the training bout fall silent.
One man watching the spar can be heard saying: “Why y’all surprised?!”
Pereira has received some criticism from fans over the brutal KO, while others argue the footage should never have been shared online.
“You don’t wanna take that left hook as a non-professional,” one fan said on X.

Another added: “The timing and accuracy on that punch is frightening.”
Other members of the MMA fraternity questioned if the blow was accidental.
While Pereira has not yet publicly discussed the incident, reports suggest that the 38-year-old did not mean to drop his sparring partner.
However, another video has also gone viral of the UFC champion throwing wild, definitely intentional shots against a different sparring partner.
Pereira trades heavy leather with 6’7″ heavyweight
Pereira went back and forth with former UFC heavyweight and current Karate Combat star Robelis Despaigne, who stands at a whopping 6’7″.

He makes ‘The Big Boy’ stumble with a sharp left hand before going to the body and throwing a deadly right hand.
Despaigne attempts to swerve the onslaught from the UFC champion but, after throwing one back of his own, gets caught with another hook.
Pereira looked just as dangerous as he did when he knocked out Ankalaev, so Despaigne will be thankful that he, too, didn’t end up on his back.
Responding to the wild session, one fan wrote on X: “Alex by round one KO if they fought for real.”
Another said: “Bro, why is Alex sparring this hard? Has he got a fight booked?”
Pereira’s next move in the UFC has not been announced yet by Dana White, but the former has repeatedly teased a move to become a three-weight world champion.
‘Poatan’ has won gold at middleweight and light heavyweight, and it seems like he favours a move to heavyweight next to try and make UFC history.
Jones verbally agreed to fight Pereira in the aftermath of UFC 320.
“Alex, I’d be down to bring the highest skill level to the White House,” he said.
“I appreciate the respect you showed, let’s dance.”
UFC CEO White has publicly played down talks of making the fight happen.
But after Jones admitted that he would accept not being the headline fight at the White House, it may be a no-brainer for the UFC brass to put it together.
