‘Absolute honour’ – Noel Gallagher wants Oasis to do James Bond official song and suggests shock role for film

James Bond is preparing for a long-awaited return to cinema screens, and could have the iconic tunes of Oasis on its soundtrack.

Their very own Noel Gallagher has revealed his ambition to write the next film’s theme song, and even cheekily suggested a starring role in the film.

Following the immense success of their comeback tour in 2025, Oasis have been reported as the frontrunners for the prestigious job.

Amazon MGM now own the James Bond franchise and as per The Sun, they have the legendary British rock band at the top of their list.

Gallagher told NME in 2008 he has written ‘a couple of Bond theme tunes’, although they ‘haven’t got very Bond-esque titles’.

But with Bond 26 set to begin production, he has left the door open for Oasis to create the sound for the next instalment.

Will Oasis write the Bond song?

Appearing on talkSPORT Drive, host Andy Goldstein asked him about the possibility of writing the theme song: “Would you like it?

“If Barbara Broccoli [long-term Bond producer] phoned you up and said: “Can you do it?'”

Gallagher then jokingly replied: “I’d say, ‘Alright Babs.'”

“Absolutely, yeah, of course, it’d be an absolute honour!” he added. “I think those kind of things should be done by Brits, not Yanks.”

Gallagher said he’d not received a call from the James Bond bosses though.

However, he might be eyeing an on-screen role as he said: “I’ll play a villain, I’ll play a Mancunian villain!”

But maybe Bond’s next nemesis could be this man

Daniel Craig was the last actor to play the role of James Bond, but left after the release of his fifth film No Time to Die in 2021.

As it stands, the new face of the franchise is yet to be announced.

Callum Turner, a British Academy Television Awards nominee, has become the latest rumoured name for the role.

Henry Cavill and Aaron Taylor-Johnson have also been linked with one of the most prestigious jobs in British film.

The producers of the soundtrack haven’t been decided yet either, but it’s clear that Gallagher would be willing to take it on with Oasis.

And maybe him and his brother Liam could make cameos in the film.
