It was a match fitting for a grand finale, as Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women defeated Delhi Capitals Women by six wickets to win their second WPL title.

After being asked to bat first in the final, Delhi Capitals put on a spirited show with the bat, as they scored a mammoth 203 in their 20 overs. Captain Jemimah Rodrigues led from the front, scoring 57 off 37 while Shafali Varma, Lizelle Lee, and Laura Wolvaardt chipped in with important contributions.

The real punch, however, was given by the West Indies all-rounder Chinelle Henry, who smashed 24 runs off Nadine de Klerk in the 19th over of the innings, shifting momentum with her 35 off 15.

Chasing a daunting target of 204, RCB were clinical throughout the chase. After losing Grace Harris early in the innings, Smriti Mandhana and Georgia Voll took it upon themselves, as they had a remarkable partnership of 165 runs that made RCBW the champions of the WPL 2026.

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals Women suffered their fourth consecutive loss in the final of the Women's Premier League. They came agonisingly close this time, but it was not meant to be for the Jemimah Rodrigues-led side. Mandhana scored 87 off 41, whereas Voll played a brilliant knock of 79. The chase was so superb, that every over of RCB's inning had at least a single boundary.

Top batting performances of the match — Smriti Mandhana

After a turmoil in her personal life, she has roared back strongly with a WPL victory. The left-hander was at her absolute best, playing a knock for the ages for her team. Mandhana scored 87 runs, which included 12 fours and three sixes. Her strike rate of over 200 was the main difference between both sides, as she never let pressure settle over other batters with her attacking strokeplay.

Top bowling performances of the match — Lauren Bell

English superstar Lauren Bell was the standout bowler in the contest despite not taking a single wicket. In a high-scoring encounter, the English pacer gave away just 19 runs off her four overs, and that, in the end, was the real difference between the two sides. Bell finished her campaign with 12 wickets to her name.
