World Darts Championship betting tips: Ally Pally picks for Monday 29 December

There are six cracking matches at the PDC World Championship on Monday and we have a trio of bets to enhance the action.

There have been a number of high-profile exits at the Alexandra Palace and defending champion Luke Littler will hope to avoid an upset in his fourth-round tie.

World Darts Championship betting tips

Standout Bet of the Day – Over 11.5 180s in Justin Hood v Ryan Meikle @ 10/11

Justin Hood has put in two career-best performances at this year’s World Championship and Happy Feet has been mighty impressive in victories over Nick Kenny and Danny Noppert.

The Glastonbury star averaged 99.59 when dismissing Kenny 3-0 in round one and those numbers increased to 103.01 when beating the excellent Noppert in round two.

The fact that Hood has produced two excellent performances, on the Alexandra Palace stage, gives hope to a third, but it remains that Happy Feet’s World Championship efforts are a long way improved from his standard on the Pro Tour.

The Glastonbury man does look a little short against Ryan Meikle, who boasts a peak game which can cause problems.

At the prices, playing over 11.5 180s looks a good bet in a game which could rumble on.

Surprise of the Day – Kevin Doets to beat Nathan Aspinall @ 5/2

Nathan Aspinall is a two-time major winner and two-time World Championship semi-finalist, but the Asp could be heading for stage left when he takes on Kevin Doets.

There is no doubt the Stockport man has the class to win this third-round tie, but Aspinall’s performance levels in wins over Lourence Ilagan and Leonard Gates make him far from a good thing in this spot.

Doets has performed to a similar level to Aspinall on the Alexandra Palace stage and there have been a number of strong efforts on the Pro Tour this term.

The 5/2 on offer about the Dutchman looks far too big.

Stats Bet of the Day – Callan Rydz to beat Josh Rock @ 12/5

Josh Rock is well-fancied on the outright market, but Rocky’s performances in the opening rounds of the World Championship have been way short of title-winning level.

The Northern Irishman averaged only 90.18 and dropped a set to Gemma Hayter in round one, and while the numbers improved against Joe Comito in round two, the first set in that contest was again short of the top level.

Of course, the argument is that Rock is yet to face a serious challenge, but you would still like to have seen more from the Antrim ace.

Callan Rydz is dealing with off the oche issues, but the Riot can’t be dismissed in this contest.

The pacey Geordie played well when beating Daryl Gurney last time out and, at 107.06, 105.31 and 103.88, Rydz had three of the five highest tournament averages at last year’s World Championship.

The Riot has a peak game to land a knockout blow on Rocky and 12/5 is a tasty price.
