Wolves v Nottm Forest prediction
Nottingham Forest make the short trip to the West Midlands on Wednesday night looking to get back to winning ways after their three-match winning streak and their five-game unbeaten run was ended by Brighton on Sunday afternoon.
The weekend’s defeat was just their second since Sean Dyche was announced as Ange Postecoglou’s successor in the hot seat at the City Ground, and kept his side in 16th position in the Premier League table, just a solitary point above the relegation zone.
Forest had gone winless from their opening eight matches away from home in all competitions this season prior to their shock 3-0 win at Anfield in their most recent away outing, which saw them climb out of the drop zone and will leave them confident ahead of their trip to Molineux on Wednesday night.
Wolves head into their midweek clash looking to end a run of seven consecutive defeats, and four matches without scoring a goal.
Rob Edwards’ side currently sit rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table with just two points to their name from the 13 league games they’ve played so far this season.
The Welshman has only been in charge of the most recent two games, defeats against Crystal Palace and Aston Villa, but faces a giant task if he’s to escape relegation with this Wolves team, currently nine points from safety and with by far the worst goal difference in the league.
The West Midlands side have picked up only one point from their six home games in the league so far this season, and will need to pick up their first victory sooner rather than later to have any chance of staying in the Premier League.
Nottingham Forest are unbeaten in their last six games against Wolves, but four of the last five meetings have ended in a draw. Wednesday’s match should be a cagey affair but there’s isn’t much pointing towards a Wolves win, leaving me to predict a 1-0 away win.
