UK Snooker Championship LIVE: Full schedule, scores and prize money with Ronnie O’Sullivan out amid early shocks

The first of the Triple Crown snooker events is now well underway, with the 2025 UK Championship taking centre stage.

Judd Trump claimed victory in the tournament last year, defeating Barry Hawkins in a first-to-ten frames contest.

The Brit is back to defend his title, but it’s a rare feat to achieve.

There hasn’t been a back-to-back winner of this tournament since Ronnie O’Sullivan in 2017 and 2018.

O’Sullivan is one of only three players to manage it, with Stephen Hendry and Steve Davis the other two.

For ‘The Rocket’ this time around, his bid for success came crashing down in the first round with a shock loss to Zhou Yuelong.

2024 World Champion Kyren Wilson has also been eliminated early, while Mark Allen fell at the first hurdle too.

UK Snooker Championship: Prize money

The prize money hasn’t changed from 2024, with a total of £1.2million being handed out.

For the winner, there is a cheque for a cool £250,000.

The runner-up takes £100,000, while the semi-finalists get £50,000 and the quarter-finalists take home £25,000.

Meanwhile, for the highest break, there is a £15,000 bonus, and of course, there is an added incentive as well.

Should a player make two 147 breaks across any of the Triple Crown events, they will win £147,000 as a bonus.

O’Sullivan has already done this with two maximum breaks in the Saudi Masters.
