Tyson Fury’s promoter confirms interest in comeback fight with 6ft 6ins giant: ‘It makes sense’
Tyson Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren, sees Arslanbek Makhmudov as a suitable comeback rival for his man.
Fury announced last week that he was reversing his retirement for the fourth time.

As speculation grows around who the ‘Gypsy King’ will face off with in 2026, several big hitters have been floated as potential options.
Aside from the likes of Fabio Wardley and Anthony Joshua, Makhmudov has also been thrown into the mix.
When Fury’s promoter, Warren, was asked what he thought about him taking on the Russian giant, who stands at 6ft 6ins, he agreed that it would make for a fitting comeback.
He explained to Box Nation: “[Tyson] is a very intelligent guy.
“He knows what he wants to do and how to get there.
“Of course, there’s a discussion over opponents and so forth, but he’s not stupid.
“He knows what he’s got to do… we may do that [Makhmudov fight].”
Makhmudov is coming off a dominant win over Dave Allen in October 2025.
He appeared to be linked to a fight with Joshua following his win, and he insisted that Joshua had promised to fight him via Instagram messages.
Although the Briton’s team revealed that he was unlikely to be the front-runner for AJ’s comeback, which ended up being against Jake Paul in December.

Now, Makhmudov is in contention to fight Joshua’s long-term rival Fury instead.
What else has been said about Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Makhmudov?
Should Makhmudov find himself sharing the ring with the ‘Gypsy King’, it certainly has the potential to be an entertaining showdown.
On talkBOXING, Spencer Oliver explained: “I don’t think he’s a bad opponent either, Arslanbek Makhmudov is a tough guy.
“He’s very heavy-handed, and Tyson Fury‘s been out of the ring for a while now.
“You look at that and the quality of an opponent and [Makhmudov is] sort of an ideal opponent really.
“Someone that is going to stand in front of him and give him the rounds.”
