The Miami Dolphins can’t catch a break right now, and a lot of that has to do with their quarterback.
Someone needs to keep Tua Tagovailoa away from the podium, as he keeps turning heads for all the wrong reasons.
This time, he talked about how being short kept him from connecting with wide receiver Jaylen Waddle in their Week 7 loss to the Cleveland Browns.
“Some of it has to do with being able to see guys with their guys also upfront and our guys. I’m not the tallest guy back there. Sometimes, when that happens, you don’t want to just throw it blindly. That had some merit to reasons as to why that happened for Waddle,” Tagovailoa said.
#Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa said part of the reason he didn’t target Jaylen Waddle much vs. the #Browns was because he had trouble seeing him over the O-line and D-line:

With Tyreek Hill out for the season because of a leg injury, Waddle is the Dolphins’ primary weapon in the passing game.
He signed a big-time contract extension last offseason, so they clearly see him as a focal point of the offense.
With all the talk about Tagovailoa’s physical limitations, huge contract, and poor play, this doesn’t do much to alleviate those concerns.
Head coach Mike McDaniel benched Tagovailoa after he threw three interceptions against the Browns, but he said he will continue to stick with the quarterback in Week 8 against the Atlanta Falcons.
Perhaps the Dolphins’ public relations department will get both of them to go through their training again, as they’re not doing themselves or the team any favors with such brutal honesty when talking to the media.
The only reason to keep Tagovailoa is the massive salary cap charges they would face if they were to release him.
But if he continues to give them reasons to move on, they might choose to bite the bullet.
