Aaron Rodgers crashed out of the playoffs, and then crashed out in his press conference.

The veteran quarterback was unable to provide the X-Factor needed to help the Pittsburgh Steelers to break their postseason curse.

In the final game of the Wild Card Round and in front of a national audience on Monday Night Football, Mike Tomlin‘s team were hammered 30-6 by the Houston Texans and the NFL’s top defense.

The result means Pittsburgh once again failed to make it past the Wild Card round of the playoffs.

Under Tomlin, the Steelers are winless in the postseason since January 2017, and the league’s longest-tenured head coach is feeling the pressure.

Chants of ‘Fire Tomlin!’ broke out at Acrisure Stadium midway through the fourth quarter on Monday night.

Rodgers likely heard it all, but was in little mood to speak on the situation after a devastating loss.

Foul-mouthed Aaron Rodgers storms out of press conference

The four-time MVP, who is regarded as one of the greatest quarterbacks ever, stormed out of his press conference after he faced back-to-back questions about Pittsburgh’s HC.

He first hit out at the outside noise from ‘Twitter experts’ and TV analysts that put Tomlin on the hot seat, before being asked a follow up.

“I’ve talked extensively about how I feel about Mike. And I just did in that f***ing answer,” he fired back, amid recent suggestion Tomlin could make a big career change.

Clearly irate, Rodgers then thanked reporters, before getting up and walking away from the podium.

He didn’t just lose his cool when speaking to reporters, either.

Rodgers rages on sideline

As things started to unravel for Pittsburgh on Monday night, cameras caught Rodgers seething on the sideline.

He struggled against one of the NFL‘s best defenses, and managed just 146 yards and an interception against the Texans.

The veteran was also sacked four times and gave up a fumble that was returned for a TD, on a night that DK Metcalf had crucial drops.

All that left Rodgers in a bad mood, and his annoyance was clear on the sideline.

He appeared to yell, ‘Do your f***ing job’ at teammates as he made his way off the field in the second quarter, and later looked very unimpressed with OC Arthur Smith.

The frustration was unsurprising as this was, perhaps, his last game in the NFL.

Troy Aikman teases Aaron Rodgers retirement decision

On the call for ESPN, Troy Aikman suggested that Rodgers is indeed set to hang up his cleats.

“I think we are watching Aaron Rodgers’ last game,” Aikman said late in the fourth quarter.

“Who knows what next year might bring? He might be willing to come in at some point if a team needs a quarterback.

“I doubt that will happen. I don’t imagine he’s gonna say he wants to come back and sign with the Steelers again or with another team.”

ESPN’s Lisa Salters also added on the broadcast that Rodgers told them this was ‘probably’ his last season during production meetings ahead of Week 15.

Postgame, though, the Super Bowl XLV champion refused to give anything away.

“I’m not going to make any emotional decisions,” Rodgers said.

“I’m disappointed, obviously. It was such a fun year. A lot of adversity, but a lot of fun. It’s been a great year.”
