Travis Kelce does U-turn on LA28 flag football stance amid impending Chiefs contract decision
Travis Kelce could play the final game of his NFL career in a Week 18 dead-rubber against the Las Vegas Raiders.
It is not the end the legendary tight end would have predicted, but with his contract up and retirement rumors swirling, he may head off into the sunset with fiancée Taylor Swift.

Kelce will have plenty of opportunities if he does decide to quit football, having already dipped his toe into the acting world and launched a $100 million podcast with his brother Jason.
Caitlin Clark was the latest guest on New Heights and her chat with the Kelces soon turned to flag football at LA 2028.
“If they need a snapper. I will gladly snap the ball and do nothing,” said Jason.
“Yeah, I could snap, too. So, we’ll be running for that job. We’ll be competing for that job,” added Travis to up the sibling rivalry.
WNBA icon Clark asked the brothers if they thought many NFL players would try and compete — something the league is keen for them to do.
“Oh, I think there’s going to be a bunch that are going to want to a few of the receivers and and DBs that have good like uh like hand eye and ball skills,” Travis said.
The possible involvement of NFL stars has proved a thorny issue with Team USA quarterback Darrell Doucette insisting that flag specialists shouldn’t be robbed of their chance to compete in the Olympics.
“We felt like we worked hard to get the sport to where it’s at, and then when the NFL guys spoke about it, it was like we were getting kicked to the side,” said the four-time world champion.
“I felt like I was the guy who could speak out for my peers, for my brothers that’s been working hard to get to this level, for us not to be forgotten.”
Doucette also suggested that he was better suited than Patrick Mahomes, who has won three Super Bowls alongside Kelce, because of his ‘IQ of the game.’

Kelce slammed those comments in May.
“Is this guy afraid of competition? Have a tryout and the best players make the team,” he said.
“He’s just boxing out other people from joining the sport because they haven’t played the specific style of football?”
Travis’ views seem to have softened as he spoke of the intricacies of flag football in the latest episode — comparing the players to three-on-three basketball great Jimmer Fredette, who Clark is a big fan of.
“I think those guys that have a good run at it. Um I don’t know if the quarterbacks will entertain it,” he said.
“It’s a different game at quarterback. Yeah, that’s what I was about to say. It does. There’s definitely uh crossover, but it is a different sport.

“And I don’t I I think there’s going to be a lot of guys that want to do it and I think the NFL is going to embrace guys trying to play in it because it’s only good for the league to see their players on a national scale like that and we don’t ever get that opportunity.”
All, hope isn’t lost for Mahomes, his teammate and friend has suggested a potential position for him.
“You might have to be the water boy or something,” Kelce joked in a September press conference alongside the Chiefs QB. “You’d still get a gold medal though!”
