Tottenham rejected interest in wonderkid Lucas Bergvall from two Premier League rivals
Tottenham Hotspur rejected transfer enquiries for Lucas Bergvall from two Premier League rivals.
The approaches from Chelsea and Aston Villa came during the January transfer window, according to The Athletic.

The Swedish sensation has been a rare bright spot for Spurs across the last two campaigns since his arrival.
He signed from Djurgarden in June 2024 and, in his first campaign, won Tottenham’s Player of the Year award.
Tottenham snapped up the youngster for £8.5million beating competition from Barcelona for the talent.
A tenacious front-footed No.8, the 20-year-old helped take the club to the Europa League final with dynamic midfield displays.
However, he missed out on playing in the win over Manchester United in Bilbao due to an injury.
The youngster has, like most of his teammates, suffered from knocks and niggles this season, missing games through a concussion and a groin problem.
Meanwhile, right now, he’s absent due to an ankle sprain that could keep him out for around another month, having taken the blow against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League in January.
He was also, bizarrely, played out of position by former Tottenham head coach Thomas Frank on occasion this campaign.
Bergvall found himself playing off the left wing or as a No.10 in some matches.
And in a comment that riled some supporters, the Dane appeared to suggest the Swede and winger Wilson Odobert have a similar profile.

After the 1-1 draw with Sunderland, he said: “When we put Joao [Palhinha] and Lucas on there was a lot of running, and it was back and forth. Lucas has played as a 10 and is almost a like-for-like for Wilson.”
The scenario he found himself in is believed to have alerted Chelsea and Villa, who made direct contact with Tottenham.
However, the north London side, currently 16th in the Premier League and threatened by relegation, rebuffed the interest and won’t consider his exit.
Ironically, Spurs’ signing of Conor Gallagher from under the nose of Aston Villa, and the injury to Boubacar Kamara – inflicted by a reckless Palhinha challenge.
Bergvall is set to have a new manager confirmed following the sacking of Frank after the 2-1 loss to Newcastle.
Former Juventus and Marseille boss Igor Tudor is set to be appointed as interim boss ahead of a huge north London derby against fierce rival Arsenal on Sunday, February 22.
