Tottenham fans tell Thomas Frank he’s ‘sacked in the morning’ before half-time as FA Cup tie turns sour

Tottenham Hotspur fans mocked their head coach Thomas Frank as they endured a dismal first half against Aston Villa.

Spurs found themselves 2-0 down in their FA Cup third round tie on Saturday amid a run of one win in six matches.

Emi Buendia fired Villa into a deserved lead in the 22nd minute, and Morgan Rogers doubled the lead during stoppage time.

There was a chorus of boos from home fans when the second goal went in, with many leaving their seats before the half-time whistle.

Villa fans began to chant ‘Sacked in the morning!’ towards the under-pressure Frank.

They were soon joined by Spurs supporters as the atmosphere at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium began to turn sour.

Speaking on commentary for talkSPORT, Alan Pardew revealed what the Dane needs to do at half-time to inspire his side to a comeback.

“There’s always a way back, particularly in the cup games, so I think he (Frank) needs to inject a bit of optimism in that dressing room and get them out of that shape.

“And when they are in that shape, make some tackles and make something happen.

“It’s almost like passive, Subbuteo players just standing around.”
