Tiger Woods called President Trump after his rollover car crash
Tiger Woods was arrested and charged with DUI after his Range Rover flipped over in Florida last week. Woods had no alcohol in his system according to a breathalyzer, but he failed a field sobriety test before his arrest. Woods had a couple white pills in his pocket at the crash scene, which were identified as hydrocodone by TMZ.
The golf pro knew he was in trouble after police showed up to the scene, and he had a bright idea to try to get out of it: call President Trump.
TMZ released a video of Woods calling Trump shortly after the crash — or at least that’s what he told police. Watch the video here:
Woods is dating Vanessa Trump, the ex-wife of Trump’s son Eric Trump.
Trump called Woods “a close friend” and “an amazing person” when asked about the car crash. Trump gave Woods the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2019.
Woods told the cops that he was hoping to play in The Masters this year, according to TMZ. That’s not happening anymore after Woods announced he was stepping away from the PGA Tour after the crash.
Here’s video of Woods in the back of the squad car, also via TMZ:
Woods is 50 years old, and has been battling severe pain for years. Here’s hoping he can get his life back on track.
