Tammy Abraham being lined-up for sensational Premier League return

Aston Villa are reportedly lining-up a surprise move to bring back Tammy Abraham.

Unai Emery is looking to bolster his Villa squad for the second half of the season in order to sustain a Premier League title charge.

Emery’s side are still fighting for three trophies, having beaten Tottenham in the FA Cup third round and are going well in the Europa League.

They are third in the Premier League, level on points with second place Man City, and seven off leaders Arsenal after 21 games.

Multiple reports claim that Villa are now exploring a move for Abraham to provide competition and support for Ollie Watkins.

The 28-year-old is currently on loan at Besiktas from Roma and has 12 goals in 24 games in all competitions.

There could be complications, however, as he is midway through a loan deal that will be made permanent for around £11m if certain conditions are met.

He is also on a salary worth around £115,000.

It would be a Villa reunion for Abraham should he complete a move to the Midlands club.

He spent the 2018/19 campaign at Villa Park on loan from Chelsea.

He netted 26 goals in 40 games as the club were promoted from the Championship under Dean Smith, beating Derby County in the play-off final.

Who else are Aston Villa trying to sign?

Aston Villa are also exploring a deal to bring Atletico Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher back to the Premier League, talkSPORT understands.

Villa are open to signing Gallagher on loan with an obligation to buy at the end of the season.

The England international is happy in Spain but would welcome a return to England to help his hopes of forcing his way into Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad.

Villa manager Unai Emery has been keen to sign Gallagher since he was at Chelsea.

Managerless Manchester United have also shown an interest in Gallagher but are in limbo following the exit of Ruben Amorim.

Gallagher, 26 next month, has played 51 La Liga games since joining Atleti from Chelsea in the summer of 2024.

Who are Aston Villa playing next?

Next up for Villa are 12th place Everton at Villa Park.

After that is a Europa League clash with Fenerbahce in Istanbul.

Villa have won five of their opening six games and currently sit third in the Europa League table.
