Bet of the day

Chelsea to win and both teams to score v Hull @ 9/5

Chelsea are the 6/1 joint-third favourites for the FA Cup as manager Liam Rosenior looks to win a trophy in his first season at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues should come through their trip to Championship side Hull – against one of Rosenior’s old clubs – successfully on Friday.

The Chelsea defence let them down again in Tuesday’s 2-2 home Premier League draw with Leeds, though, so backing an away win with both teams scoring appeals.

Hull are fourth in the second-tier standings, but have picked up only one point from their last two league games, which were both at home, and they have lost half of their last eight league fixtures at the MKM Stadium.

Chelsea have won four of their last five away matches in all competitions but they conceded at least one goal in each of those matches, including a 5-1 win at Championship side Charlton in the third round of this competition.

Bet builder

  • Wrexham v Ipswich
  • Both teams to score
    Over 3.5 goals
    Sam Smith anytime goalscorer
  • Bet Builder pays 29/4

Friday’s other FA Cup tie is an all-Championship affair between Wrexham and Ipswich. The Red Dragons are underdogs at home to the Tractor Boys, even though the third-placed visitors are only three positions above them in the table.

The teams meet again in the league next weekend and while their first clash this season was a goalless draw at Portman Road in November, blank scoresheets are a rarity for both sides and a higher-scoring game is expected under the Friday night lights.

Take both teams to score, which has happened in nine of Wrexham’s last 12 matches and three in a row for Ipswich, plus over 3.5 goals. That has landed in three of the Welsh side’s last seven home matches, including their third-round tie against Premier League Nottingham Forest, which they won in a shootout after a 3-3 draw.

Finally, Sam Smith looks a likely candidate to score for Wrexham after netting four times in his last seven appearances.

Acca

  • Milan to beat Pisa
  • PSG to beat Rennes
  • Monaco to beat Nantes
  • Benfica to beat Santa Clara
  • Osasuna to beat Elche

Acca pays @ 19/2

Friday’s five-leg acca contains games from Italy, France, Portugal and Spain with a host of out-of-form teams worth opposing on Friday.

In Serie A, second-placed Milan can win at Pisa, who are 19th and winless in 13 games, while in France, PSG can see off Rennes, who are sixth in Ligue One but are having their worst spell of the season by some way after four successive defeats.

In the same division, take mid-table Monaco to beat struggling Nantes, who have lost four in a row and were beaten 5-3 at home in the teams’ first meeting this season.

In Portugal, unbeaten Benfica should have few problems against a Santa Clara outfit who have lost their last four games.

Then in Spain, Osasuna have hit form, taking 10 points from their last four games, and can beat an Elche side who have lost five and drawn two of their last seven matches.
