Bet of the Day – Brighton to beat West Ham @ 23/20

West Ham appeared to be pulling towards safety when Nuno Espirito Santo took the reins in September, but three Premier League defeats on the bounce have left the Hammers five points from safety.

It’s no wins in seven games for the Irons and it could get worse when Brighton visit east London.

West Ham hit only two efforts on target when losing 1-0 to Fulham on Saturday and, while Ollie Scarles’ mistake handed the Cottagers three points, that was a contest which Nuno’s men never looked like winning.

The Irons have scored only four goals in their last six matches and you have to wonder where the chances will come from against Brighton.

The Seagulls were beaten 2-1 at Arsenal last time out, but Fabian Hurzeler’s men have lost only five of their last 16 games and those defeats have come twice against the Gunners, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Manchester United.

A contest against West Ham represents a step down in class and Brighton rate the best bet of the day.

Special of the Day – Arsenal to win & under 2.5 goals bet builder @ 41/20

Aston Villa turned around a 1-0 deficit to beat Chelsea 2-1 on Saturday and that result has kept Unai Emery’s men dreaming of Premier League glory.

Villa head to league leaders Arsenal this evening with all eyes on the battle for the title.

Emery has to be given credit for squeezing the maximum from his Villans squad, but the Villans were battered by Chelsea in the first half of Saturday night’s tie and the numbers suggest that Villa’s league position is massively outstripping their performance level.

Yellow cards to Matty Cash and Boubacar Kamara against Chelsea, means that duo are suspended for the trip to the Emirates and that further stretches Villa’s squad.

Arsenal’s performances in victories over Wolves and Everton were anything but free-flowing, but the first-half of the League Cup success over Crystal Palace was excellent, as was the effort when beating Brighton 2-1 on Saturday.

Gabriel’s return has boosted an injury-hit Gunners defence and that should see Mikel Arteta’s men keep Villa at bay.

Longshot of the Day – Chelsea to beat Bournemouth, Livingston to beat Dundee United, draw in Dundee v Kilmarnock treble @ 21/2

Chelsea were beaten 2-1 by Aston Villa on Saturday night, but the Blues should have been two or three goals up at half-time.

Enzo Maresca’s side can bounce back against a Bournemouth side who were hammered 4-1 at Brentford at the weekend.

Livingston deserve credit for scoring two goals, having 13 shots and 11 corners in a 4-2 defeat to Celtic last time out and Livi can pick up a much-needed victory against Dundee United.

Dundee and Kilmarnock are the worst performing teams in the Scottish Premiership and a stalemate looks likely at Dens Park.

The Dee have scored only four goals in their last five games, while Killie have failed to hit the net in six of their last 12 and that low goal expectancy makes the draw a huge runner here.
