Borussia Dortmund to win and both teams to score vs Bayer Leverkusen @ 21/10

There’s midweek cup action in Germany and a chance for Bayer Leverkusen to gain immediate revenge on Borussia Dortmund following Der BVB’s 2-1 win at the BayArena on Saturday.

That Bundesliga success allowed Dortmund to leapfrog Leverkusen in the standings, and both Niko Kovac and Kasper Hjulmand are expected to make changes for Tuesday’s DFB-Pokal fixture.

Dortmund’s greater squad depth can help them prevail against a young Leverkusen side who are nonetheless expected to create chances.

The last five meetings between these teams have seen both sides score and there is real value in backing that permutation when bundled in with a Borussia Dortmund win.

Fulham v Manchester City

  • Man City to win
  • Both teams to score
  • Erling Haaland to score
  • Kenny Tete 3+ tackles @ 23/5

Manchester City rode their luck in Saturday’s 3-2 win over Leeds and they may well be pushed again at Fulham on Tuesday.

City have won to nil on their last two trips to Craven Cottage but they are far from watertight this season, conceding in eight of their last nine in all competitions.

The likelihood of them rotating also increases the possibility of goals against them, but Erling Haaland is the leading candidate to score at the other end.

Haaland missed out on a goal against Leeds, but his tally of 14 in 13 games means he is still scoring at over a goal per game in the league.

The 25-year-old netted in last season’s fixture at the Cottage and is always worth consideration, as is Fulham’s combative defender Kenny Tete, who is tipped to make 3+ tackles.

The Dutchman is averaging 3.4 tackles per game in this season’s Premier League and is expected to be kept busy by City’s fluid attack.

  • Newcastle United to beat Tottenham
  • Bournemouth to beat Everton
  • Atletico Madrid – Draw/Double Chance against Barcelona @ 6/1

Newcastle were excellent in beating Everton 4-1 on Saturday to record their first league away win of the season and now return to St James’ Park, where they have won their last six matches in all competitions.

Visitors Tottenham are winless in four and with doubts already surrounding Thomas Frank’s future, the Magpies can pile further pressure on the Dane.

Bournemouth can add to Everton’s woes and end their own four-game run without a victory.

The Cherries squandered a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 at Sunderland on Saturday. However, they have lost only once at home this season, and while the Toffees won at Old Trafford last Monday, they lacked focus against Newcastle and may be vulnerable.

So might Barcelona, who host Atletico Madrid in La Liga. The injury-hit Blaugrana were outclassed 3-0 at Chelsea in Europe last Tuesday and had some awkward moments in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Alaves.

Atletico have won their last six games in all competitions and can get something from their first trip to the revamped Camp Nou.
