Rivals to get on the scoresheet

On Sunday, Los Blancos lost their unbeaten record at home this season. Losing 2-0 against Celta, it was the first time Real had drawn a blank at the Bernabeu since October 2024.

They have scored 12 goals in five Champions League games and will be determined to find the net again following the weekend’s La Liga setback.

City, meanwhile, have scored in all but one match on the road this season and have netted 22 goals since the start of November, scoring at a rate of nearly three goals per game.

What’s more, since 2012, the Citizens have scored in six of the seven times they’ve faced Real at the Bernabeu.

Foden to continue goalscoring run

Phil Foden is back among the goals for City as Pep Guardiola’s side ramp up their attempts to catch Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table.

The playmaker scored a brace including the winner to beat Leeds, netted another two goals in a 5-4 victory at Fulham and on Saturday got his name on the scoresheet again in City’s 3-0 triumph over Sunderland.

Heading to the Bernabeu, Foden is already off the mark in the Champions League, having netted twice against Borussia Dortmund in November. 

As for Real, Foden has notched twice against Los Blancos, in a 3-3 away draw in April 2024 and a 4-3 home victory back in April 2022.

Vinicius Junior to be Real’s chief creator

Vinicius Junior is one of the key men who makes Real tick and already has three assists to his name in this season’s Champions League.

The frontman is a tricky customer, completing 33 dribbles in this year’s tournament to get himself into dangerous areas to tee up his team-mates in front of goal.

With fellow stars such as Mbappe and Jude Bellingham to set up, the Brazilian will look to find opportunities to set up chances on Wednesday night against City.
