talkSPORT tips – Best football bets and expert advice for Monday 5 January

Here are our Bet of the Day, Bet Builder and Monday Acca suggestions involving those matches.

Monday football betting tips

Bet of the day – Egypt -1 (3-way handicap) v Benin @ 11/8

Egypt face Benin in the round of 16 at the Africa Cup of Nations in Agadir on Monday and the Pharaohs should have few problems progressing to the quarter-finals.

Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush were both among the goals as Egypt won their first two group games against Zimbabwe and South Africa, while the Premier League pair were then unused subs for the goalless draw with Angola as Egypt fielded a completely changed team after qualifying.

Benin made the knockout stage despite scoring just one goal in three group games, which came in a 1-0 win over Botswana, and they are likely to be outclassed as Egypt return to full strength.

Bet builder – Leicester v West Brom, Leicester to win, Both teams to score & Abdul Fatawu anytime goalscorer @ 19/2

Monday’s Championship game features two teams who are not beginning 2026 in the form they would like to be in.

Leicester and West Brom have each lost three of their last four games, with the Foxes going into the weekend in 13th place and the Baggies five places below them.

West Brom’s atrocious away record suggests the Foxes should be able to get a welcome win.

The Baggies have lost 10 of their 13 away league games this season, with their latest defeat coming at Swansea on Thursday, which made it nine losses in a row away from The Hawthorns.

Both teams have scored in Leicester’s last eight games (and in 11 of their last 12), so take both teams to get on the scoresheet, while Leicester midfielder Abdul Fatawu is a value option to grab a goal after scoring his fourth of the season in the recent home win over Ipswich.

Acca – Leicester to beat West Brom, Egypt to beat Benin & Nigeria to beat Mozambique @ 19/5

There are just enough matches on Monday to put together a treble, so let’s combine Leicester to beat West Brom and Egypt to beat Benin for the reasons explained above with Nigeria to see off Mozambique in the other round-of-16 clash at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Nigeria compiled a perfect group record, beating Tanzania, Tunisia and Uganda and, while Mozambique were the highest-ranked third-placed team, they should fall short of the standard required to cause an upset.

Mozambique put in decent performances to lose by one goal to both Ivory Coast and Cameroon, while their 3-2 win over Gabon was the key to them going through, but those opponents lost all three of their games and Nigeria should pose a far greater threat.
