The star wide receiver’s suspension for swinging at a Detroit Lions fan this past Sunday is being upheld following his appeal, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Besides the consequences it can obviously have on the team, this decision greatly impacts Metcalf’s financial situation. He could potentially lose a massive chunk of his earnings, as the suspension will void $45 million in future guarantees. The 28-year-old heads into the holidays with a great deal of frustration.
