Spurs’ De’Aaron Fox lands on injury report for Cavs battle
The San Antonio Spurs are one of the hottest teams in the league, and it’s been hard for any team to stop them as of late. Their next opponent will be the Cleveland Cavaliers, who are on a two-game losing streak and are looking to find some momentum before the end of the calendar year.
The Spurs dealt with injuries earlier in the season, but they’ve been fairly healthy over the past few weeks. They do have a new name on the injury report, as De’Aaron Fox is dealing with left adductor tightness and an illness. If Fox isn’t able to play, the Spurs have the depth at guard that can fill in for his absence.

De’Aaron Fox’s injury status vs. Cavs
Fox is listed as questionable against the Cavs, and there is a chance that he can suit up despite the injury and the illness. He didn’t play in the Spurs’ last game against the Utah Jazz, and they ended up losing that game.
Fox has played well this season, as he’s averaging 21.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game. He’s been big for them in closing games, as he’s known for having the clutch gene down the stretch. He also provides another top-scoring option alongside Victor Wembanyama, who has been coming off the bench for the Spurs since returning from injury weeks ago.
The Spurs have looked like one of the top teams in the league over the course of December, and it hasn’t been because of one player. They’ve defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder on three different occasions, and it almost feels like they have the script on how to beat them. Outside of that, they’re showing that their style of play is hard to beat.
Fox is key to that style of play, and the hope is that he can return to the floor soon.
