‘So wrong’ – Dominic Calvert-Lewin makes talkSPORT host take U-turn on ‘howler’ claim
Rory Jennings has been made to eat his words once again, this time by Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The talkSPORT co-host admitted he had a ‘howler’ with his prediction for the newly-promoted side after signing the striker.

Calvert-Lewin joined the club in August, signing a three-year deal following his exit from Everton.
Jennings, known for his bold predictions that don’t always come off, had tipped Leeds for relegation, pinpointing the signing of the former England striker as a factor in his claim.
However, Daniel Farke’s side currently sit seven points clear of the relegation zone following their draw with Sunderland.
Calvert-Lewin was on target at the Stadium of Light on Sunday, his eighth Premier League goal of the campaign.
His strike also extended his run of scoring in consecutive league appearances to six.
It is the first time in his career that the 28-year-old has found the net in six Premier League outings in a row.
Calvert-Lewin U-turn
As a result, Jennings has now admitted he got it ‘so wrong’ when it came to writing off Leeds as certainties for the drop on account of them relying on Calvert-Lewin for goals.
Reacting to their latest result on The Final Word, he said: “In my life I’ve had some howlers, some predictions that really haven’t gone well.
“This one may have gone slightly under the radar, but my God, it has been so wrong.
“I basically said that I wanted Leeds to stay up for the reasons that we’ve gone into already.

“I wanted Leeds to survive and I felt like they were doomed because of the quote I used.
“I said, ‘if you are relying on Dominic Calvert-Lewin to be the player to keep you up, you’re going down…’ He’s breaking records. He’s scored six in a row.”
Calvert-Lewin tipped for England return
Co-host Darren Ambrose also waxed lyrical about Calvert-Lewin, urging Thomas Tuchel to recall the player to the England squad.
The former midfielder explained: “He’s got seven in his last six, but he has eight this season.
“So this purple patch he’s on at the moment is probably the best of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
“The Dominic Calvert-Lewin that got into that England side. The Dominic Calvert-Lewin that, in my opinion, should and could go to the World Cup.”

Calvert-Lewin has not been included in an England squad since Euro 2020.
Prior to his four-year hiatus from the national team, he scored four goals in 11 caps for the Three Lions.
However, Leeds boss Daniel Farke believes Calvert-Lewin is worthy of a return under Thomas Tuchel.
Following his side’s draw with Brentford earlier this month, in which the summer signing was on target, Farke was asked if Calvert-Lewin should go to the World Cup.
The German told talkSPORT’s Alex Crook: “Yes, of course, because Thomas Tuchel rewards performances.
“I’m far away from giving any recommendation because Thomas is a top class top class manager and coach and knows exactly what he needs.
“But as a player, if you deliver with consistency, performances, then you have all chances.
“He was there before, has proven that he can score goals for the Three Lions.
“And yes, if he shows this with consistency in this league, then yes, also any chances to be back there again.”
Tuchel will name his next squad in the new year, with England facing Uruguay and Japan in March.
The Three Lions will then head to North America in the summer for the World Cup.
England take on Croatia, Ghana and Panama during the group stage.
