Shedeur Sanders calls out journalist’s ‘rude question’ after telling Dillon Gabriel to get off field in awkward exchange

Dillon Gabriel got his job back from Shedeur Sanders for one play as the Cleveland Browns lost to the San Francisco 49ers.

Shedeur was named the No. 1 after becoming the first Browns rookie quarterback to win their first start since 1995 in Week 12.

He scored his first touchdown at Huntington Bank Field with a long completion to Harold Fannin Jr. to keep his team in it early.

It was the fourth 30-plus-yard pass of his brief NFL career — double what Joe Flacco (two) and Gabriel (zero) managed between them this season.

But the Niners defense took control of the game in blustery conditions.

Sanders was evaluated for injury in the fourth quarter after taking a hit and Gabriel came in for one play.

He completed his first pass — and checkdown to running back Quinshon Judkins — and was preparing to take another snap and 2nd and 20 when Sanders ran back on the field after being given the OK.

Gabriel was checking his wristband and didn’t see who ran past him, forcing his fellow rookie to turn around and tell him to run to the sideline.

Sanders ended up with 149 yards and one touchdown — and will keep the No. 1 role for a clash with the 1-11 Tennessee Titans.

Fans took to social media to have their say on the clip.

“Shedeur was better than Gabriel would have been today. Neither of these guys is a starting QB,” wrote one.

“Gabriel not knowing sanders was coming back out was one more reason he shouldn’t play. He almost killed Judkins on his check down pass also. Play call should’ve just been a handoff,” a second added.

“They both suck… so there’s that,” a third noted.

“Imagine this guy after three weeks of practice,” added an optimistic or sarcastic fourth.

A reporter asked Sanders about Stefanski’s playcalling after the loss — and the QB was quick to shut it down.

“First, that’s a rude question to ask,” he said. “I like being out there playing.

“We not going to ever be up here pointing no fingers at no coaches. That’s extremely disrespectful. I’m thankful for being out there.”

Sanders was also involved in a heated exchange with wide receiver Jerry Jeudy on the sidelines as they reviewed footage together and argued.
