Scotland to face Brazil as tough World Cup 2026 group is revealed
Scotland will face Brazil, Morocco and Haiti in the 2026 World Cup group stage next summer.
For the first time since 1998, the Tartan Army are back on the world stage after booking their ticket to the USA, Canada and Mexico in thrilling fashion.

Steve Clarke‘s side sealed their return among international football’s elite by winning their qualifying group with a stunning late victory over Denmark.
And they have now discovered their group stage fate at a glamorous event stacked with household names in Washington DC on Friday.
The upcoming World Cup has been expanded to 48 teams, meaning there are now 12 groups of four.
And Scotland were placed in Group C for next summer’s global tournament.
Tough draw
And just like in 1998, they will once again face Brazil and Morocco in the group stages.
Scotland lost 2-1 to five-time World Cup champions Brazil in their 1998 opener.
And they also lost 3-0 against Morocco, who made history at the 2022 World Cup.
Morocco became the first African nation to reach the semi-finals in Qatar, where they lost 2-0 to France.
Scotland will also pit their wits against Haiti – their first World Cup appearance since 1974.
