Saturday horse racing tips

• SANDOWN
  1.50: Lulamba 8/11 (1pt)
  2.25: Knickerbockerglory 11/4 (1pt)
  3.00: L’Eau du Sud 11/4 (1pt)

Lulamba

This is one of Nicky Henderson’s stars of the stable especially with others not performing recently.

This hurdler has won three from four including each of the last two confirming his ability even showing more progression.

He was 11/4 for the Supreme at Cheltenham Festival only losing by a neck to a horse that went on to prove he’s a great hurdler.

This four-year-old reversed that form in style at Punchestown before winning comfortably over fences on debut at Exeter.

Going this quickly to fences they must be confident again and gets his first Grade 1 opportunity chasing.

Knickerbockerglory

Won extremely well here in this race last year and was said to have benefitted well from the going, soft which it will be this year too by all accounts.

While he hasn’t won since he’s placed incredibly well in some tough handicaps going less than two lengths off of Go Dante here when fifth in March.

There does seem to be a habit of horses who go well at Sandown and this is certainly one of them especially when he now becomes favourite in what should be easier than his last two.

L’Eau du Sud

The Tingle Creek Chase is a Grade 1 contest that has been dominated by Jonbon in recent years.

But this year he returns against two horses who’ve recently beaten him comfortably.

And it could be a bit of both; between Jonbon regressing and the two winners really getting better and better as they get older and experienced.

Il Etait Temps is the big favourite though after winning the Celebration Chase by over five lengths ahead of Jonbon back in April.

L’Eau du Sud isn’t far behind but did impress at Cheltenham’s November Meeting to beat Jonbon by 15 lengths, looking incredibly comfortable.

For that reason I’d be going for the latter as he just seems to be progressive and up for the challenge.

All three have great form here and while Jonbon has won this race two times on the bounce, I’d be confident the grey can perform well here.
