Ruben Amorim reveals Manchester United January transfer window stance despite AFCON dilemma
Ruben Amorim won’t be rushing into any signings in the January transfer window despite losing key players to the Africa Cup Of Nations.
But the Manchester United manager refused to rule out the possibility of bringing some new faces into the club this winter.

Man United have seen Bryan Mbuemo, Amad Diallo and Noussair Mazraoui depart for the Africa Cup of Nations this week.
And their exit has left Amorim without two of his key attacking threats, as well as one of his starting defenders.
It means that the rest of the Red Devils squad is going to have to step up in their absence over the busy festive period.
However, amid concerns that United may lack some quality depth in Mbeumo, Diallo and Mazraoui’s positions, some fans may want to see some transfer activity in the January window.
Amorim was asked ahead of his side’s clash with Aston Villa on Sunday whether he will have money available to buy players and whether he will be delving into the market for new signings.
“We will only try to bring players that we think are going to be the future,” the Portuguese manager revealed in his press conference.
“It’s not going to be to save something at this moment, to cope with the losses of three players for AFCON. It’s not going to be like that.”
He added: “Even if we try to bring one player, maybe it’s not for the position that we need at that moment.
“We will try to bring, now and at the end of the season, players that are perfect for our future.
“So, I don’t know what is going to happen, but it is possible that we can do something.”

Who could Man United sign?
Amorim didn’t rule out the chance for Man United to sign some players this January, despite his admission that he won’t be rushing.
And one man they could make a move for is Antoine Semenyo.
The Bournemouth star has been the subject of interest around the Premier League, with Manchester City holding talks.
However, United are set to rival their neighbours as they also pursue a deal to sign the Ghana international, who has a release clause of between £60million and £65m in his contract.
talkSPORT understands that it is now likely to be a straight fight between the two Manchester clubs for Semenyo.
Tottenham are currently outsiders in the race, while Liverpool are unlikely to make a move and Arsenal need to offload first.

‘More than ready’
Amorim remains confident in his current Man United squad, despite potentially looking into the market for new arrivals.
He admitted that his side ‘need to play a little different’, but that his back-ups are ready to step up and replace the absent players.
“We will see, but we’ll be ready for the game [against Aston Villa],” the United boss told MUTV. “It’s not perfect as we don’t have all the players, but we are ready. We have players that can solve the game for us, so we are happy with that.”
Amorim continued: “Yes, [we have lost Amad and Mbeumo] and also Nous. So Nous is also really important for us, but when one player is out, we have opportunities for other players.
“Last year, in some games, we managed to win, especially in Europe, without Amad. Bryan was not here, so we already have those moments of difficulty.
“So we are ready, more than ready, to cope with that.”
