Real Madrid vs Celta Vigo predictions and betting tips – Mbappe to fire Los Blancos to another three points
Seeking to keep the pressure on at the top of the La Liga table, Real Madrid will be looking for back-to-back wins when they host Celta Vigo at the Bernabéu on Sunday.
After three defeats in their last two outings, Celta find themselves in the wrong half of the La Liga table. Trying to get back on track away to Real will be a tough challenge.

Real Madrid vs Celta Vigo predictions
A challenging November saw Real Madrid blow a five-point lead at the top of La Liga, surrendering the top spot to rivals Barcelona.
Real finally put an end to their disappointing run of three successive draws with a 3-0 win away at Athletic Club on Wednesday.
Again, it was Kylian Mbappe who was the catalyst for the win. The Frenchman scored his 15th and 16th league goals of the season in the win, with Eduardo Camavinga also on the scoresheet.
Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso has been coming under fire in recent weeks for the team’s underwhelming performances. The chief accusation being that the team are too over reliant on Mbappe.
Recent results have done little to dispel that theory.
Not only did Mbappe score two of Real’s three in Bilbao, he also scored the only goal in their 1-1 draw with Girona last Sunday and all four in their 4-3 win away at Olympiacos in the Champions League.
In total, Mbappe has scored seven of Real Madrid’s eight goals in their last three matches. On that evidence alone, Alonso must stand guilty as charged.
Celta Vigo have lost two of their last three, with the setbacks coming at home against Barcelona (4-2) on Matchday 12 and Espanyol (1-0) last Sunday.
Sandwiched between those defeats was a 1-0 win away at Alaves for Claudio Giráldez’s team. Iago Aspas scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot. Highlighting their improved form in recent weeks, it was Celta’s third win in four matches.
Overall, it’s been a strange season for the Sky Blues. Their record in La Liga is won three, drawn seven and lost four. All seven draws were 1-1, and occurred between Matchday 2 and Matchday 9. Only a 2-1 defeat to Elche on Matchday 7 prevented a clean sweep.
Last Sunday’s loss to Espanyol would have been regarded as a huge setback. A win over a top six team would have marked a turning point in the Sky Blues’ season. However, it only confirmed their place as a mid ranking team in the Spanish top flight.
Celta did bounce back with an unconvincing victory of sorts on Thursday night. They were held to a 1-1 by Sant Andreu in the Copa del Rey, but they did advance to the next round of the cup by defeating the tier-four outfit 7-6 in a penalty shootout.

Real Madrid vs Celta Vigo betting tips
Real Madrid won the corresponding fixture 3-2 last season. Goals from Arda Güler and Kylian Mbappe (2) put Los Blancos into a commanding 3-0 lead. Celta hit back with second half goals from Javi Rodríguez and Williot Swedberg. However, Real hung on for the win. Our match tips for this season’s showdown follow:
Real to win and concede
Real Madrid have a huge Champions League clash against Manchester City looming in midweek.
As well as having one eye on that, Los Blancos really can’t afford to drop any more La Liga points, as they can’t risk falling further behind Barcelona – who let’s not forget, Real led by five points after Matchday 10.
We can see Real winning the match. But given that Alonso may have to rotate his squad with City in mind, we are giving Celta a goal.
Los Blancos is just 3/10 in the match betting market. Adding both teams to score significantly boosts those odds.
Bet on Real Madrid to win and yes in both teams to score at 7/5 with bet365
Real back in among the goals
Madrid were back with a bang in midweek with their 3-0 win over Athletic Club.
It wasn’t a huge shock. Real may have drawn three of their last four, but we know there is quality throughout this squad. It will come as no surprise if they now start scoring plenty of goals on a more consistent basis.
As we expect Real to win and concede on Sunday, they will need to score at least two goals to seal all three points. A 2-1 scoreline brings over 2.5 match goals into play and over 1.5 goals for Real.
Both are short, so we are going to push the boat out a touch and back Real to score over 2.5 on their own.
They have Mbappe on fire at the moment, so we expect a fast start, with the Frenchman maybe withdrawn when the game is won to save him for the Champions League.

Mbappe to get Real off to flying start
Kylian Mbappe’s recent form has been out of this world.
For starters he has 16 goals in 15 La Liga matches for Real. But furthermore, he has scored seven goals in his last three matches in all competitions.
Back Mbappe to continue his current form. He is 5/13 to score anytime and 6/4 to score first. We say he is worth backing to score first.
