NFL Insider Reveals Tyler Warren’s Status On Sunday

The Indianapolis Colts will look to bounce back from a heartbreaking loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. They will return home for a divisional matchup with the Houston Texans.
Despite being three-point favorites for this matchup, Shane Steichen’s team will have to battle some major woes. As reported by NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, star rookie tight end Tyler Warren might not be at his best:
“I’m told Warren is battling a stomach issue. They re-evaluated him this morning. Nothing firm yet, but cautious optimism the rookie sensation will go in a huge game against the Texans,” Pelissero said.
Colts TE Tyler Warren, who is listed as questionable because of an illness, is battling a stomach virus. They’ll monitor him this morning, but all indications are he’ll play today vs. the Texans. @NFLGameDay @nflnetwork pic.twitter.com/7Y61YU4ARj

Warren has been the best rookie tight end in the league this season. The young star out of Penn State has 55 catches for 662 yards and three touchdowns, and he’s also been a factor out of the backfield in goal-line situations.
His blocking has been spectacular, and with Jonathan Taylor doing most of the heavy lifting for this offense, not having him at his best could be an issue. That’s particularly true if you also factor in Daniel Jones’ health.
Per multiple reports, Jones just suffered a broken fibula, and while he will play through it and has reportedly ‘looked great,’ videos showed him limping and looking slow in practice. That might spell trouble when you play a divisional rival, much more one that happens to have the best defense in the game.
The Colts were one of the biggest surprises in the league in the first two months of the season. Unfortunately, health also plays a big factor in finding success in this league, and it’s never how you start the year; it’s about the way you close it out.
