Next West Ham manager odds: Hammers could replace Santo with former Man United player

West Ham United had a torrid first half of the Premier League season and it would be no surprise to see Nuno Espirito Santo given his marching orders.

The West Ham board are deciding to stick with the Portuguese manager for now but there are numerous names already strongly linked with a move to the London Stadium should the time come.

West Ham currently sit 18th in the Premier League table now seven points off of Nottingham Forest and out of the relegation zone.

To make matters worse they’ve lost both of their relegation six pointers in the space of a few days.

Losing to Wolves 3-0 which was their first victory of the entire season and then lost 2-1 to Forest thanks to a last minute penalty winner from Morgan Gibbs-White.

Those two losses were clearly too much to ignore for the West Ham board on top of their already precarious position in the table which has accumulated into a ten-game winless run.

Former Man United player and current Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick has been linked with numerous jobs including to be the next Man United manager.

And now he’s been installed quickly as the clear favourite to come in at West Ham to help rescue them from the relegation zone.

Slaven Bilic is also right up there with a history with the club potentially being a big factor as they look for a quick and experienced replacement for Nuno Espirito Santo.

Ruben Amorim was sacked earlier this week as Man United boss and could face a quick Premier League switch as he’s been included high up in the list of contenders to be the next West Ham boss on a permanent basis.

Similarly, former and recently sacked Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is in the single digits in the betting and makes sense with an easier move across London.
