Anthony Gordon absolutely ripped through the Qarabag defence last week, scoring four of the six goals that has effectively made this game a dead rubber.

It will give manager Eddie Howe some respite after a tough last few months to rest and rotate a squad that has succumbed to some hefty injuries.

They’ll be no Bruno Guimaraes, Lewis Miley, Tino Livramento and Fabian Schar in action. With Malik Thiaw serving a one-match ban for collecting his third yellow card of the competition in the first-leg.

But Sven Botman and Yoane Wissa could still feature. Qarabag will want to go down with a fight, but Newcastle should be able to manage the match and pick their opponents off once again.

William Osula has been a regular feature off the bench this season but should get his chance in attack from the start on Tuesday night.

He may be joined by Anthony Gordon who will be champing at the bit to add to his goal tally. Perhaps, Howe may decide to rest his star man with a view on the weekend’s Premier League tie against Everton.

After returning to the side, Joelinton should start alongside Sandro Tonali and Joe Willock in midfield.

If Newcastle make an electric start with waves of attack, then own goals may be a genuine feature if the Qarabag defence are backed into their own box. Especially with the delivery from Murphy and Harvey Barnes.

Any chance of a Qarabag goal? Newcastle were already 4-0 up when the Azerbaijan side scored last week.

That came 10 minutes into the second half. It could be a carbon copy here, if Howe’s side take their foot off the gas with their progress is already sealed.
