Nate Diaz reels off three-fight hit list for potential UFC comeback including Conor McGregor trilogy

Nate Diaz still has his sights set on a return to the UFC Octagon.

The 40-year-old hasn’t competed for MMA’s premier promotion since his submission win over Tony Ferguson in September 2022.

Since then, he has turned his hand to boxing, losing to YouTube star Jake Paul in 2023 before defeating long-time rival Jorge Masvidal one year later.

The Stockton southpaw now feels ready to have one last roll of the dice, in the sport where it all began.

And he has three names in mind for his comeback fight.

“I’m ready to get back in real action,” Diaz told TMZ.

I want to fight either McGregor 3.

I wanna fight maybe Dustin Poirier, if he stops being such a p****, and then maybe Mike Perry.

We’ll see what happens in the future.”

Diaz added that a slot on the UFC White House card in June would be ‘dope’.

However, it seems unlikely he will be handed the opportunity, given that Dana White has already finished matchmaking for the unprecedented event.

Diaz’s hitlist also seems far-fetched.

Dustin Poirier hung up his gloves following a defeat to Max Holloway last July and has remained steadfast in his decision.

Mike Perry left the UFC in 2021 and seems fully focused on winning a world title in BKFC.

There could be some legs in a trilogy bout with Conor McGregor, given that they are one apiece in their rivalry.

Yet it remains to be seen if Diaz would be welcomed back to the UFC altogether.

White had shown interest in re-signing Diaz after his contract expired, but that ship may have sailed following his defeat to Paul.
