Moses Itauma told perfect next opponent by Tony Bellew as promoter teases US debut
Moses Itauma has been urged by Tony Bellew to chase a huge fight with Andy Ruiz Jr next.
Itauma recorded the most emphatic victory of his career at the weekend, becoming the first heavyweight to knock out stubborn Jermaine Franklin.

The British prodigy is being tipped to immediately make an approach for a shot at world honours, with his journey to the top seem as inevitable.
Itauma’s handler Frank Warren confirmed he is likely to challenge for the world titles by the end of 2026.
And he is also expected to make a quickfire return to the ring in July, in what could come against a reputable name.
Former cruiserweight world champion Bellew wants him to step in the ring with Mexican heavyweight Ruiz Jr next.
He told talkSPORT: “You know what, the perfect match-up for him is Andy Ruiz Jr.
“It is based on the fact that he is durable and punches hard coming back.
“I’ve said this for the last 12 months. We’ve seen he can throw a shock punch as he did in the Joshua fight.”
Ruiz has yet to fight since his controversial draw with Jarrell Miller in 2024.
Reports have indicated that the Mexican has signed with Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing, but official confirmation has yet to arrive.
If he has indeed inked on the dotted line, it could provide a significant obstacle to a clash with Itauma.
Frank Warren’s talkSPORT update on Moses Itauma
There are multiple US names that could be in the frame for Itauma if he chooses to try and make a splash stateside.
Richard Torrez Jr is being lined up if he beats Frank Sanchez in their IBF eliminator, with Itauma’s team to petition for the clash.
Jared Anderson could be in the running given he has just inked a contract withWarren’s Queensberry Promotions.
And Warren has suggested to talkSPORT that a US debut could be imminent.
He explained: “We will be going to America, that is obvious.
“That will happen this year, who the opponent is we will see, I have no problem with him fighting anyone out there.
“He will take America by storm. I’ve had lots of calls from people who are just praising him.
“He is an unbelievable talent and he’s just turned 21. He can fight anyone in this division and beat any of them.”
