Nottingham Forest will need to end a six match winless run on their trip to Denmark on Thursday evening to stand any chance of reaching a first European quarter final in 30 years.
Four defeats in their last six matches, including a second home defeat against Midtjylland this season, leave Vitor Pereira’s staring a Europa League exit in the face and have them hovering above the relegation zone in the Premier League on goal difference.
Forest head into tonight’s match with just one win in their last 10 matches in all competitions, with Pereira having won just one of his seven matches in charge since taking over at the City Ground last month.

Midtjylland head into Thursday’s clash having won only one of their last four matches, which came in last week’s first leg in Nottingham.
Mike Tullberg, who spent seven years coaching at Borussia Dortmund before moving back to his native Denmark in September, saw his side’s nine match unbeaten run come to an end on Sunday afternoon with a 1-0 home defeat against Nordsjaelland in the Superliga.
Defeat over the weekend saw them fall four points behind Aarhus in the title race, but eyes may well have been on Thursday’s clash which could see the Danish side reach the quarter finals of a European competition for the first time in the club’s history.
Nicknamed ‘The Boys of the Moor’, Midtjylland started their Europea League journey this season back in July with a 1-1 draw against Hibs in the second qualifying round, progressing through three rounds before reaching the league phase, in which they finished third, to give them a seeded spot directly into the last 16.
The Danes have won 12 of their 15 matches in European competition this season, including two wins against Forest, and have lost just once, a 2-1 defeat at Roma in the league phase.
