Masters reveal surprise new item to iconic concession stands after underwhelming addition last year

A new item will be available for patrons to purchase from the concession stands at next month’s Masters.

Augusta National is preparing to stage the 90th edition of the tournament between April 9 and 12.

Rory McIlroy will return after completing the career Grand Slam last year.

The five-time major winner beat Justin Rose in a play-off to finally get his hands on the green jacket.

McIlroy’s Champions Dinner menu was released on Wednesday, featuring a £1,000 wine and a choice between Wagyu filet mignon or seared salmon for main course.

However, it is not the only food-related talking point to emerge from Augusta.

A new offering has been added to the concessions menu at the course ahead of the tournament.

Sweet success

Tee Times revealed on X that a ‘Masters Candy Bar’ will be available for patrons to buy throughout the week.

The product has been launched as part of a partnership with nearby chocolate factory Bitzel’s.

A product description for the item reads: “A dark-milk chocolate blend with caramel, rice crisps and hazelnut crunch.”

The surprise addition comes after mixed feedback from patrons over last year’s concessions menu.

The savoury tomato pie sandwich was the most notable offering to receive an underwhelming response at Augusta.

However, the item will once again be available at next month’s event.

It was listed along with the Masters Candy Bar on the Masters website with their food allergens.

Patrons can also sample a number of breakfast items including chicken biscuit, breakfast sandwich, blueberry muffin and fresh fruit.

The price of the new Masters Candy Bar has not yet been revealed with the tournament still three weeks away.

Entry to the course is open from 7.30am each day, with parking from 6am.

Final entries to Augusta will close to patrons at 6pm throughout the week of the Masters.

The traditional Par 3 Contest will be held on Wednesday, April 8, a day before the opening round gets underway.
