Mark Wood warned England Test career is over after latest injury setback
Mark Wood’s England Test career is over, according to Darren Gough.
Gough’s claim follows the news that the 35-year-old will miss the rest of the Ashes against Australia.

Wood has been ruled out of the final three Test matches Down Under with a swollen knee.
He had only returned to action following an eight-month lay-off following left knee surgery in the first Test last month.
However, swelling to the same knee forced Wood to miss the second Test in Brisbane.
England have now replaced the fast bowler in the squad with Matthew Fisher.
Wood’s England Test future
Gough believes it will likely mark the end of Wood’s Test career, although he could return in different formats.
Speaking to talkSPORT, the former Yorkshire captain told Breakfast: “He’s 35, nearly 36, now and let’s be honest, if he comes back and plays another Test match, I think he’d be over the moon with that.
“I didn’t play for such a long time, two years, and I tried to come back and played in two Tests and I wish I hadn’t.
“I only played because I had a load of injuries and I came back in. I think he’s going to struggle to get back, if I’m really, really honest.
“But we all know what Mark Wood is like. He’s a great character. He gives himself the best chance.
“He doesn’t drink. He trains like a demon. He just loves the game. He’s funny. He’ll try and get back because that’s what he’s like.

“But if I was him, I would literally just try and play T20 cricket. I hate saying that because I’m not a big fan of people just playing, going down that route.
“But he bowls 95 miles an hour when he’s fit, but he can’t do it now.”
Wood made his Test debut for England a decade ago against New Zealand back in 2015.
He has since played a total of 38 Tests, taking 110 wickets for 3,665 runs across those matches.
The first Ashes Test was Wood’s 12th against Australia, although he was unable to take a wicket from the 11 overs he bowled.
England would go on to lose by eight wickets within two days in Perth.

They were subsequently beaten by the same margin in Brisbane last week to fall 2-0 behind in the five-match series.
The third Test will take place in Adelaide, with day one getting underway on December 16 at 11:30pm GMT.
