Manchester United vs Man City LIVE commentary: Kick-off time, team news and where to watch huge derby clash
Manchester City make the short trip to Old Trafford to face bitter rivals Manchester United this weekend, live on talkSPORT.
The Red Devils are looking to put a turbulent time behind them with a huge victory over their noisy neighbours in the Manchester derby.

After sacking Ruben Amorim last week and putting former midfielder Darren Fletcher in caretaker charge, United haven’t fared much better on the pitch.
A 2-2 draw with relegation strugglers Burnley was followed by a third-round FA Cup exit at the hands of Brighton on Sunday.
But it could be the dawn of a new era by the weekend, with United expected to name Michael Carrick as their new interim manager.
Seventh in the Premier League table after three straight draws, Carrick will look to get off to the perfect start with a derby win.
But opponents don’t come much tougher than Man City, who strolled to a 3-0 victory in the reverse fixture back in September.
The Citizens head into this clash off the back of a 10-1 demolition of Exeter in the FA Cup.

Manchester United vs Man City: Team news
United are set to be boosted by the return of Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo for their derby clash with City.
The pair have been away at the Africa Cup of Nations since mid-December, but their tournaments came to an end this week, with Cameroon and the Ivory Coast crashing out in the quarter-finals.
But Noussair Mazraoui won’t be back in time for Saturday, after progressing to the semi-finals with hosts Morocco.
United will be without teenager Shea Lacey, who is serving a one-match ban after being sent-off in the FA Cup defeat to Brighton.
It is not yet clear if Matthijs de Ligt will be fit for clash, with no return date given for him, after missing the nine games with a back injury.
As for City, they are are likely to still be without a number of players ruled out for sustained periods of time.
John Stones, Josko Gvardiol, Mateo Kovacic, Ruben Dias, Savinho and Oscar Bobb are all currently sidelined with ongoing injuries.
Omar Marmoush is still away at AFCON and unlikely to feature, with Egypt in semi-final action against Nigeria on Wednesday.
Full-back Rayan Ait-Nouri could feature on Saturday after AFCON duty, with Algeria being knocked out by Nigeria last weekend.
In another boost, £62.5million January arrival Antoine Semenyo could make his Manchester derby debut, after starring on his first outing for City with a goal and assist in the 10-1 thrashing of Exeter.

- This will be the 58th Premier League meeting between Manchester United and Manchester City. The Red Devils lead the head-to-head record overall (W26 L21 D10), but have managed just three wins in their last 10 clashes with the Citizens (W3 L6 D1).
- Man City came out on top in the last Manchester derby, thrashing United 3-0 at the Etihad thanks to goals from Phil Foden and Erling Haaland. Prior to this, the Red Devils went unbeaten against the Citizens in 2024/25, winning 2-1 away, before a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford.
- Since joining Man City in 2022, Erling Haaland has scored eight goals in six Premier League appearances against Man United. This includes a brace in September’s 3-0 victory, and a hat-trick on his Manchester derby debut in a 6-3 win in October 2022.
- Man United’s FA Cup third round exit means that for the first time since the 1981/82 season, they have crashed out of both domestic cup campaigns at the first hurdle. The Red Devils were also knocked out of the Carabao Cup by League Two Grimsby in the second round back in August.
Manchester United vs Man City: What has been said?
After defeat to Brighton, Darren Fletcher insisted United still have a lot to play for this season, despite now only having Premier League games to look forward to.
Following what was likely his last match as caretaker boss, the Scot said: “The thing for me is there’s still a lot to play for this season.
“And I think if I look at the players, and we get players back from injury, and AFCON, and we get a fuller squad, I think these players have got the ability to qualify in a Champions League place, and that should be their objective, that should be their mindset.
“But they’re going to have to come together and be part of that as well. It’s not about a manager; it’s not about directors.
“It’s about everyone, and the players have to group together, take responsibility, find a way of improving quickly and taking on the challenge for the rest of the season. Don’t waste the season.”
