Man City v Newcastle: Bet Builder boosted from 15/2 to 17/2
Manchester City are in Saturday night action as Newcastle visit the Etihad Stadium and it gives Pep Guardiola and his side a major opportunity to turn up the heat in the title race.
The Citizens have beaten Newcastle twice in 2026 already, winning both legs of their Carabao Cup semi-final, and completing a hat-trick of successes against Eddie Howe’s side would see them close to within two points of the under-pressure league leaders Arsenal before the Gunners go into North London derby battle on Sunday.
There is no escaping the magnitude of this weekend in a title race that had major life breathed into it when Arsenal were sucker-punched in their draw at bottom club Wolves in midweek.
Guardiola’s side will be loath to miss their chance to increase the glare on Mikel Arteta’s outfit.

Man City vs Newcastle bet builder tip
- Man City Half-time/Full-time
- Over 8.5 corners
- Antoine Semenyo anytime goalscorer
- Anthony Gordon 1+ shots on target
- Bet Builder was 15/2 now 17/2
Leg 1: Man City Half-time/Full-time
This is a massive chance for City to make a title statement and Newcastle should be welcome visitors as the Magpies have lost 16 successive Premier League games at the Etihad and have failed to even score in the last six.
There is good reason to believe Guardiola’s side can take early control. They’ve scored a league-high 16 goals in the 15 minutes before half-time this season and have also kept first half clean sheets in each of their last 12 Premier League games.
They scored three unanswered first half goals when the teams met here recently in the League Cup and it was the same story in this league fixture 12 months ago as City won 4-0.
City have led at half-time and won the last eight league and cup meetings at the Etihad. Newcastle had a 5000-mile round trip to Azerbaijan in midweek and their record in this fixture is appalling.
Leg 2: Over 8.5 corners
No team has taken more Premier League corners entering this round of fixtures than Newcastle’s 181. As a result, their games have a league-high average of 12 per-game.
Man City are averaging 5.42 corners per game and 9.23 combined. There were nine here in the EFL Cup recently, while the Citizens contributed nine alone in a tally of 14 despite losing 2-1 at St James’ Park in November. Nine looks an achievable figure again.
Leg 3: Antoine Semenyo anytime goalscorer
January signing Antoine Semenyo has slotted right into this Manchester City and already has scored five times in eight starts, including the opener in last month’s EFL Cup meeting in the north-east.
He notched a goal and an assist before half-time in the 3-0 Premier League win over Fulham here last time out and was given a 25-minute cameo in the FA Cup win over Salford since.
With wide man Jeremy Doku set to miss out, Semenyo can continue his excellent start as a City player by scoring his third career goal against Newcastle.
Leg 4: Anthony Gordon 1+ shots on target
Anthony Gordon sensationally scored four first half goals for Newcastle against Qarabag in midweek.
The England man has also scored in two of his last three Premier League games against Man City.
He managed four shots in the away-day win at Tottenham previously in the Premier League and netted before that in the loss at Liverpool. He can get a shot on target to complete this bet builder.
