Man City eye up summer raid on Premier League rivals to sign England international
Manchester City are eyeing up a summer swoop for Newcastle United defender Tino Livramento, talkSPORT understands.
It is also understood Livramento, who is likely to cost around £60million, has shown no willingness to extend his stay at St James’ Park.

Although Livramento’s contract expires in 2028, Toon chiefs are keen to lock down the defender’s future.
talkSPORT reported last October that Newcastle’s new sporting director Ross Wilson had made extending Livramento’s contract a priority amid growing interest from City.
Should Livramento sign a new deal to remain on Tyneside, he is expected to become one of the club’s top earners.
Livramento has proved to be an astute signing for Newcastle since his £40m arrival from Southampton in 2023.
The 23-year-old has represented the Toon 98 times, scoring once and providing three assists.
He was also part of the team that ended Newcastle’s 70-year wait for a domestic trophy last season as he started the club’s 2-1 win over Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.
Key to Livramento’s emergence as a standout for Newcastle has been his defensive versatility.
A right-back by trade, Livramento proved equally adept on the left when needed amid Lewis Hall’s injuries.
Livramento even played at left-back for England in a 5-0 mauling over Serbia in a World Cup qualifier last September.
The 23-year-old has endured a disrupted season for Newcastle having missed 12 games across all competitions this term due to a knee injury.

Matheus Nunes, a central midfielder by trade, has emerged as City’s top right-back option this term.
Nunes’ increased role has consigned Rico Lewis, a right-back with five England caps to his name, to a secondary role.
Centre-back Abdukodir Khusanov has also deputised on the right side of City’s back four throughout the season.
Livramento isn’t the only defender at a Premier League rival of interest to City.
Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi is understood to be a target of City’s in January amid a defensive injury crisis at the Etihad.
City boss Pep Guardiola confirmed Ruben Dias will be out for up to six weeks while there are fears Josko Gvardiol’s season is over with a leg injury.

Despite City’s interest in Guehi, it is understood the Palace skipper – who is out of contract at the end of the season – is relaxed about staying at Selhurst Park.
Part of Guehi’s hesitance to move is due to the regular game time he enjoys under Palace boss Oliver Glasner ahead of the World Cup this summer.
However, it is understood Palace could sanction a mid-season sale knowing the England international will walk for free at the end of the campaign.
