Luke Littler confirms immediate return to oche as he sets eyes on winning next trophy days after World Championship win

Luke Littler isn’t giving himself much time to bask in the glory.

Speaking to talkSPORT after his 7-1 win over Gian van Veen in the World Darts Championship final, Littler confirmed he would be back at the oche in less than a fortnight.

“We fly out to Bahrain next Sunday, so obviously we’ll have five, six days off and then we’re back on the road, back on a flight,” Littler said.

“I want to go and try and win that title in Bahrain once again.

“I obviously want to set a marker and try and win the first Saudi Arabian World Series.

“After Saudi Arabia, me, mum dad and Faith, we’re going over to Dubai for three, four nights and chill out.”

The Bahrain Darts Masters, which Littler won in 2024, is held on January 15 and 16.

Should Littler win in Bahrain for the second time in three years, he’ll only have a handful of days rest before the Saudi Arabia Darts Masters, which commences on January 19.

Victory in Riyadh would also earn Littler a slice of history as he’d become the first-ever winner of the Saudi Arabia Darts Masters.

The winners of last year’s World Series events took home a tidy £30,000, although the prize money for the 2026 tournaments has not been confirmed.

No matter the final figure, it would pale in comparison to the eye-popping £1m Littler took home thanks to his latest World Championship triumph.

It was the first time a seven-figure pay day had been up for grabs in the sport’s history and Littler, who has shattered record after record since he burst onto the professional scene, ensured it would be his to bank.

Although ‘The Nuke’ remained uncertain how he’d spend part of his prize money on himself, he hinted to talkSPORT that his girlfriend, Faith Millar, could be the beneficiary.

“She can think of something, I can definitely treat her,” Littler said.

Taking home £1m wasn’t the only memorable aspect of Littler’s eight-set domination on Saturday.

His win made him the first person since Gary Anderson to win back-to-back Sid Waddell trophies.

Anderson, who bowed out of this year’s World Championship in the semi-finals, accomplished the feat in 2015 and 2016.

Littler’s remarkable achievement meant he is now one of just four people to win consecutive world titles alongside Anderson, Adrian Lewis and Phil Taylor.

Another element that puts Littler’s absurd feat into perspective is the fact he has reached the final in all three of his Alexandra Palace appearances.

He stunned the sporting world when, at age 16, he powered past every rival to reach the final, only to be beaten by Luke Humphries.

But Littler came back with a vengeance in January 2025 to beat Michael van Gerwen in the final and become the youngest world champion in history.
