Salah made headlines when being benched in a shakeup in the starting lineup made by Arne Slot as they continue to have their drop in form.

These changes have occasionally made a difference but Salah being left out has a lot of people wondering given his attacking returns for the club.

Made worse by Salah saying he was being ‘thrown under the bus‘ for Liverpool’s dip in results.

Salah to remain unused?

Salah has been an unused substitute in two of Liverpool’s last three Premier League matches.

He’d only been an unused sub in three of the first 303 matchday squads he featured in for the Reds. This season is Salah’s lowest tallies per 90 minutes for Liverpool for shots (2.6), shots on target (0.8) and touches in the opposition box (7.3).

Salah was an unplayed against West Ham in their 2-0 win away from home in November.

Then only featured for 45 minutes against Sunderland in their 1-1 draw at Anfield last week.

He was brought on in the half time break before not featuring at all against Leeds in their dramatic 3-3 draw.

Hugo Ekitike netted two that game though and should be considered for being prominent again.

Slot is under pressure but consistently has to decide between Alexander Isak and Ekitike up top now as they continue to play a front three with two wingers and a nine.

Head to head record tells all

This is a game that just has a habit of seeing plenty of goals, from both sides scoring, both sides winning and even the odd draw in recent ties.

In the last six in all comps Brighton have won 3-2 and 2-1, Liverpool similarly have also won 3-2, won 2-2 twice and then they’ve also drawn 2-2 as well.
