Laura Woods makes return to TV screen after shock collapse live on air

Laura Woods has made her first TV appearance since collapsing live on air last week.

The presenter made a brilliant return back to our screens for TNT Sports’ coverage of the Champions League clash between Real Madrid and Manchester City on Wednesday night.

It comes just eight days after she was removed from the ITV broadcast of the women’s international friendly between England and Ghana.

What happened to Laura Woods?

Woods had been fronting coverage of the match at Southampton’s home when she was taken ill.

She collapsed pitchside and was caught by pundits Ian Wright and Anita Asante before ITV quickly cut to a break.

Katie Shanahan took on presenting duties once the show resumed, with Woods being treated by medics.

The 38-year-old later took to social media to reassure fans and provide an update on her health.

She explained that the collapse had not been caused by anything serious, but was instead likely down to a virus.

In a message shared to her Instagram story, Woods wrote: “Gosh that was a bit weird.

“Sorry to worry everyone, I’m okay, the wonderful paramedics at Saints have said it’s probably a virus, just need a bit of rest and hydration.

“I’m really embarrassed that happened on tv, but a big thank you to my colleagues at ITV who have really looked after me tonight.

“And to Wright and Neets for catching me, and sorry again x.”
